Tung Lok Signatures

Tung Lok Signatures @ The Central is one of our favorite restaurants for birthday celebrations. We will usually feast on the wide array of dim sums the restaurant has to offer during lunch, and a must try is none other than their cube sized roasted pork. The skin is really crispy and its not greasy at all! A perfect mix of succulent fatty meat and tender lean meat. Pop the bite size delicacy into your mouth, take a bite and feel the succulent juice oozes out and fill your mouth with the aroma of their signature dish roasted to perfection. Take note though, from what we understand, this is a special dish that they will usually reserve only for their regular customers as they have very limited stock per day. Hence, to avoid disappointment, you may wish to inform the restaurant to reserve a portion or two for you when you call to make a reservation. ^_^

We also love their Stir Fried Chee Cheongfun with XO-sauce and freshly baked bite-size egg tarts. You may also wish to try their grilled kurobuta pork, which is one of their house specialities. Some may find it albeit too salty though.

Apart from good food, what really impressed us was their commitment to customer satisfaction. As it was one of our colleagues' birthday, they served us a complimentary fruits platter with test tube fresh fruit juices. The colourful fruits platter certainly brightened up our day and brought a big smile on all our faces! And that's not all! They brought out the cake that we brought to the restaurant on a big plate, with complimentary "shou tao" (buns filled with oozing egg custard) and a personalized poem written using squid ink! They even arranged one of their staff to "rap" the poem out to the birthday girl. It was really sweet! Definitely one of the restaurants you would want to consider when you have a birthday celebration to plan. ^_^

Strawberry shortcake from Paris Baguette. A lightly flavoured cream cake with a generous topping of strawberries. Will visit Paris Baguette to try some of their pastries soon!
